Why Study International Business at Deusto Business School?

1. It’s among a handful of schools with top business accreditation.

Deusto Business School Accreditation

Did you know that only 6% of global business schools have received the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation? Deusto Business School can count itself among that 6%. AACSB accreditation recognises a business school’s commitment to innovation and strategic change, student success and societal impact, all of which are vital to a student’s success in international business.

The MBA at Deusto Business School has also received specific accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), which judges MBA programmes on impact, employability and learning outcomes. AMBA accreditation is limited to just 300 business schools, representing just 2% of global MBA programmes.

The business school has also received recognition from QS, who ranked Deusto Business School’s Master in European & International Business Management as one of Spain’s top 10 management programmes, together with the Master in Management, which is considered one of the world’s best programmes in management by QS.

All professors were very involved and made time for you whenever you needed it. They also offered a wide range of courses. Even though our schedule was very intense, having sometimes 10 different courses in one week, I did easily pass all of them.

2. Immerse yourself in international perspectives.

Master in International Business Deusto Business School

In September 2023, Deusto Business School welcomed the ninth cohort of its Master in International Business programme. Students arrived from countries as diverse as Pakistan, Mexico, Austria, the US, and more, introducing a wide range of different business perspectives into the classroom.

In fact, an average of 60% of the International Business class are international students. With the primary language of the degree being English, students don’t have to worry about language being a barrier to participation, either.

3. enhance your studies with international experiences.

Studying International Business

You don’t study international business to stay in one place. You do it to experience different business environments and learn from diverse professionals.

So, at Deusto Business School, don’t just expect to stay in Spain for your degree. For the Masters in International Business, students take two study trips during the year-long programme—in the past, students have travelled to Morocco and India. These trips are real immersions, with students invited to local business schools to participate in classroom learning and enjoy networking with local business professionals.

4. Become a Trilingual business professional.

Study Trilingual Business

If you want an even more diverse international business experience, choose Deusto’s Master in European & International Business Management. On this degree, you’ll study across three European countries in three different languages.

Switching business schools and languages each semester allows participants to get a truly international business perspective and meet students from around the world at each campus. Naturally, you’ll need to have some skills in each language to begin with, but language courses are also offered throughout the degree, so you can finesse your skills before your international business career.

Great education and internatuonal experience.

I had the privilege of pursuing my master’s degree in European and International Business Management (EIBM) at Deusto Business School, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The level of organization and the quality of education provided by the university exceeded my expectations. What stood out to me the most was how the EIBM program facilitated international experiences, broadening my perspective and preparing me for a global career. I am truly grateful for the invaluable experience and knowledge gained during my time at Deusto Business School.

5. Study in a fast-growing economic centre.

Study in Bilbao Deusto Business School

As we’ve mentioned, students on the Master in European & International Business Management study in the heart of Bilbao. Despite being the capital of the cultural Basque Country region, Bilbao is often overlooked in favour of other Spanish cities like Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. However, here on the northern coast of Spain, you’ll find a lively, diverse city that’s considered one of the country’s most innovative regions and full of incredible natural landscapes and greenery.

Students of the Master in International Business (the English-language international business programme), on the other hand, will find themselves situated in San Sebastian. Just an hour from Bilbao, San Sebastian has long attracted international travellers and has since developed a reputation as a cultural capital to rival far bigger cities.

Both cities are part of the wider Basque Country region, an area with a high proportion of international companies in high-tech sectors, including energy and aviation. Additionally, several global companies—including Mercedes Benz Daimler, Michelin, and Siemens—have corporate bases in the region.

Conclusion

If you’re looking to study international business in a unique cultural destination, then Deusto Business School’s programmes in San Sebastian and Bilbao could be the perfect choice. With international experiences, a highly diverse student body, and practical learning (incorporating case studies and company visits), these international business degrees help students approach the business world with a multicultural outlook.
